Obituary for Anthony Cretella
Anthony Cretella, 85, of Ludlow passed away peacefully on Sunday October 29th, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center with his family by his side.  Born in Hartford to the late Antonio and Rachel (Scalzo) Cretella, he has lived in Ludlow for many years and was a faithful communicant of St. Elizabeth Parish.  Anthony served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was a baker and business owner.  He leaves his beloved wife of 59 years Virginia (Silva) Cretella of Ludlow; loving children Catherine DeFarias and husband Mark of Swansea, Janet Hammond and husband John of Wilbraham, Paula Boutin and husband Larry of Chicopee, David Cretella of Springfield, Joseph Cretella and long-time girlfriend Dorothy Kochanek of Springfield and Christina Cretella of Salt Lake City; 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; his sisters Mary Camarco, Gloria Camarco and Theresa Parla and her husband Leonardo; Anthony was predeceased by his sisters Connie and Lena and his brother Dominic. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 3, 2017 at 8:00am from the Ludlow Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 9:00am in St. Elizabeth Church.  Burial with Military Honors will be 1:00pm in St. Benedict Cemetery in Bloomfield, Ct. Visiting hours are Thursday evening from 4:00-6:00pm and in lieu of flowers please make donations in Anthony’s name to:  St. Elizabeth Parish, 181 Hubbard Street, Ludlow, Ma. 01056 or Mass Citizens for Life P.O. Box 96, Ludlow, Ma 01056.
