Obituary for John F. "Jack" Ruell
John F. Ruell, 87, beloved husband of the late Phyllis A. Ruell (Goodreau).  Son of the late Francis and Leona (Moquin) Ruell.He was born in Burlington, Vermont. He spent much of his life living in Ludlow, Mass and spent his retirement years in Melbourne Beach, Florida.  
John (Jack) was a Navy veteran, Chief Petty Officer, Storekeeper,on the USS Breckinridge.  He loved reminiscing and recounting stories about his military service.  He retired from Monsanto after working there 34 years.  Jack was an avid golfer and enjoyed golfing with his sons and was part of many golf leagues.  He was also a diehard Red Sox and Patriot fan. 
In addition to his late wife, Phyllis, of 62 years, he was a father of six children:  Jack of Ludlow, Jerry and his wife Kim of Henryville, Indiana, Larry of Belchertown, Deb La Belle and her husband Joe of Westborough, Ann Evans and her husband Alan of Northampton, and Michael of Melbourne Beach, Florida.  
Cherished grandchildren: Erin Ruell, Dana Cavanaugh, Rebecca Mahon, Jason Ruell, Sean Ruell, Allan Ruell, Alyssa Flynn, Andrew La Belle, Samantha Boissonneault, and Harrison Lussier.  Great grandchildren: Adam, Taylore, Gage, Madyson, Amaleigha, and Scarlett.
He also leaves his only sibling, his sister, Joyce Wolski and her husband John he also leaves behind his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Clement Goodreau and his wife Helen.  Sadly John was predeceased by his brother in law and sister law’s George Goodreau and his wife Dorothy and Jean Sheehan and her husband Kenneth.  
He will be forever missed by his many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 915:AM from the Ludlow Funeral Home , with a Liturgy of Christian Burial in St. Elizabeth’s Parish at 10. Burial with military honors will follow in Island Pond Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Monday evening from 4-7 PM , and donations in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation (alz.org).
