Obituary for Mary J. (Adzima) Pikul
Mary J. (Adzima) Pikul, 85, of Ft. Pierce, Fl. and formerly of Ludlow, passed away peacefully in Florida on July 16, 2017 with her beloved husband by her side. Born in Belchertown, Ma., daughter of the late Peter and Apolonia Adzima, she was a graduate of Belchertown HIgh School and received her Associate Degree from Springfield College. She was a Bookkeeper for Reliable Service Center for many years, as well as a freelance writer for the Springfield News, a reporter for the Ludlow newspaper, and a member of WAABA Organization in Springfield. Mary leaves her beloved husband of 67 years, Felix S. Pikul; her children Craig Pikul, of MA, and Cynthia Pikul Burkhart, of MD; a grandson Andrew Pikul, of VA; and many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends, both here and in Florida. Sadly, Mary was predeceased by her 6 siblings, Peter J. Adzima, Kazimierz J. Gubola, Helen Zaranek, Anne Ciecko, Julia Henrichon, and Amelia Chlebus. Visiting hours are on Sunday from 4:00-8:00pm in Ludlow Funeral Home. Funeral services for Mary will be held on Monday, July 24, 2017 at 9:00am from Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00am in Christ the King Church followed by cremation. Interment of cremains will then take place on Tuesday, July 25th at 3:00pm in Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Friends and family may gather directly at the cemetery on Tuesday (services are currently being held in the temporary committal area in the rear of the cemetery).
