Obituary for Richard Courtney Crum
Richard Courtney Crum, age 42, a resident of Warrenton, VA passed away in Ashburn, VA on October 31, 2016. He was currently a Senior Systems Engineer and Operations Analyst at Knack Works and formerly a Project Manager at Zeta Associates. Richard was a veteran in the U.S. Navy and Army and was honorably discharged.
Richard was most importantly a proud father of 3 daughters, Jessica Crum of San Luis Obispo, CA, Sidney Crum of Warrenton, VA and Maddie Crum of Warrenton, VA; he is survived by his wife, Lori Crum of Warrenton, VA; parents, Michael Crum and his wife Anne Crum, West Springfield, MA, Deborah Cossaboom and her husband Christopher Cossaboom, Warrenton, VA; six siblings, Michael P. Crum, Franklin Cossaboom, Alissa Nolan, Joni Sullivan, Carrie Lynn Humber, and Julianne Crum. He is predeceased by grandparents, Rita and John Chicklowski and Richard and Marion Crum and his beloved cousin, Alexa Spear Lynch.
Rich was always easy to find whether he was hollering for a Boston sports team, snoring two floors away, or laughing with a goofy grin. As someone who had such a tenacious personality during his life, even death cannot take away his powerful presence. Rich mastered being a wonderful father and role model to his three daughters and a close friend to many. During his life, he worked incredibly hard to provide for his family and make personal connections with everyone he came in contact with. Those of us left behind will never again know the mischief behind his cheshire grin.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday November 8th 2016 at 10:00 am in the Ludlow Funeral Home followed by an interment service at Saint Thomas the Apostle Cemetery in West Springfield. Visiting hours will be Monday November 7th from 4:00-6:00pm and preceding the funeral on Tuesday from 9:00-10:00am.
