Obituary for Richard F. Boucher, Sr.
Richard F. Boucher, Sr. 71, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2017. Born in Ludlow, son of the late Ovila and Helen (Nahorniak) Boucher, he was raised in Willimansett and was a 1965 graduate of Chicopee High School before returning to Ludlow many years ago. Richard held various jobs in his youth and was a hard working man before being drafted into the military in 1966. He was a proud United States Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam Era and retired from the military on December 26, 1978 after 12 years of dedicated service. Richard was a faithful communicant of Christ the King Church, a proud member of the American Legion Post 275 in Chicopee, and a life member of the Paralyzed Veterans of America New England Chapter, Vietnam Veterans Chapter 111 in Springfield, Disabled American Veterans, VFW, and National Association of the Uniformed Services. Richard was the beloved husband of 49 years to Pyong “Wonda” (Yu) Boucher; a loving father to Richard F. Boucher, Jr., of FL, Jon E. Boucher, of Chicopee, and Tammy Sultaire, of FL; a dear brother to James Boucher, of FL, Sandra Bratcher, of Louisiana, Carolynn Boucher, of FL, and the late Joann Pendrick; grandfather to John Boucher, Jr. James, Jeff, and Richard Viera, and also leaves many loving extended family members and friends. Funeral services for Richard are on Saturday, February 18th at 9:00am from Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00am in Christ the King Church followed by burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Visiting hours are on Friday from 6:00-8:00pm and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ludlow Veterans Services 488 Chapin St. Ludlow, Ma. 01056.
