Obituary for Rui Dos Reis Faria
Rui Dos Reis Faria, 67, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2018 with his devoted daughter by his side. Born in Vale Benfeito, Amoreira, Obidos, Portugal, son of the late Elvira Faria Tomas, he was a longtime Ludlow resident. Rui worked for many years at St. Aloysius Cemetery and in his spare time, he enjoyed deep sea fishing and gardening. Rui was the loving father of Cidalia Vital and husband Mark, of Ludlow, and the late Nuno J. Faria; the proud VoVo of Brianna Faria, Marco and Ellie Vital, and Mya Rose and Jayden Faria; a dear brother to Joaquim Faria (Tomas) and Manuel Tomas and wife Lurdes, all of Indian Orchard; uncle to Melissa, Derek, Mark, and Jaime; and also leaves many loving extended family members and dear friends. Rui’s family wishes to extend a special thank you to his nurses and Agawam Healthcare Center, Salina and Darren, for their exceptional care, compassion, and comfort. Funeral services for Rui will be held on Wednesday, February 21st at 10:00am from Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00am in Our Lady of Fatima Church followed by burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Visitation will precede the funeral from 8:00-10:00am.
