Obituary for Abilio “Billy” Goncalves
Abilio “Billy” Goncalves, 91, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2018 in Dandridge, TN. Born in Ludlow, son of the late Domingos and Gracinda (Dias) Goncalves, Abilio was a lifelong resident where he was faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church and proud member of the Gremio Lusitano Club and Portuguese American Citizens Club. He worked for many years at Warner Brothers Construction Company before retiring. Billy was the beloved husband of 62 years to Irene (Sousa) Goncalves; a loving father to Americo Goncalves; the dear brother of the late Joe, Faustino, Silverio, and Carlos Goncalves, Aline Silva, and Aurora Martins; and also leaves several loving nephews, including Jose DaSilva, and Antonio Goncalves, nieces, extended family, and friends. Visiting hours for Billy will be held on Thursday, December 6th from 4:00-6:00pm in Ludlow Funeral Home. Funeral services are on Friday at 10:00am from the funeral home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00am in Our Lady of Fatima Church followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery.
