Obituary for Albert L. Desautels
Albert Desautels, 86, of Ludlow passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday April 21, 2013. Born in Springfield to the late Leo and Blanche (Boivin) Desautels, he was a long time Ludlow resident and former communicant of St. John the Baptist Church. Albert served his country honorably in the United States Navy during WWII. He worked for many years as the Director of Construction & Engineering at the former Forbes & Wallace in Springfield and at STCC as the Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds. He enjoyed gardening and in particular took great pride in his cultivation and knowledge of Japanese Red Maples. Albert leaves his beloved wife of 64 years, Aurora (Nunes) Desautels of Ludlow; loving sons Ronald Desautels, Dr. Robert Desautels and wife Gina all of Wilbraham and David Desautels and his wife Robin of Ludlow; caring brothers George and Francis Desautels as well as his extended family of nieces, nephews and in-laws. Sadly Albert was predeceased by a son William and a brother Ernest. It was the wish of Albert’s family that all funeral services and burial be held privately by his family. His arrangements were entrusted to Ludlow Funeral Home. Those who wish to make a donation in Albert’s memory may do so to: Dakin Pioneer Valley Humane Society, PO Box 6307, Springfield, MA. 01101.
