Albertina (Gama) Monteiro, 81, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully at home on February 2, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Sapelos, Boticas, Portugal, she immigrated to the United States in 1978 settling in Indian Orchard before moving to Ludlow. Albertina enjoyed crocheting, and in her youth, she enjoyed knitting socks for her family. She also loved to dance, sing, and work in her flower gardens; but she especially loved to spend time with her family and will be affectionately remembered for always bringing candy and chocolate to the children. Albertina was the. beloved wife of 60 years to Augusto Monteiro; a loving mother to Ana Martins and husband Jack of Ludlow; a devoted grandmother to Jessica Crough and Eric Martins; an adoring great-grandmother to Olivia and Liam Crough, who were the love of her life; a dear sister to Ana Maria Ladeira, Silveria Costa, Silvestre Gama, Jurel Gama, Sergio Gama, and the late Isolete dosSantos; and also leaves many loving extended family members and dear friends. Funeral services for Albertina were held privately by her family in Ludlow Funeral Home with burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
