Obituary for Alberto Santos
Alberto Santos, 97, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving daughter and son-in-law. Born in Portugal, he immigrated to the U.S. in 1956 settling in Ludlow where he was a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church, a member of the Gremio Lusitano Club, and the former Portuguese American Citizens Club. He worked for many years at MG Kinsler Coat Company from where he retired. Alberto was the beloved husband of Julieta (Duarte) Santos, who predeceased him in 2008; a loving father to Maria Helena Mazzei and her husband Henry “Bud”, of Ludlow, a cherished brother to the late Matilde Santos; uncle to her daughter Olga Santos in Portugal; brother in law to Alfredo and Isabel Ribeiro; uncle and Godfather to Anna Maria Crescentini; and also leaves many other cherished nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews both here and in Portugal; as well as dear relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 12th at 9:00am from Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00am in Our Lady of Fatima Church followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery. Visiting hours are on Thursday Nov. 11th from 4:00-6:00pm and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Alberto’s memory to the Our Lady of Fatima Shrine Fund, The American Heart Association (heart.org), or to the charity of one's choice.
