Albina G. da Silva, 87, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2008, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Padornelos, Portugal, she has lived in the Ludlow Area for 23 years where she was a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church.  Albina was the beloved wife of the late Manuel Freitas, who predeceased her in 1983; a loving mother to Carlos M. Freitas Ribeiro, in Portugal, and Maria Manuela Juliano and her husband Manuel, of Ludlow; a cherished grandmother to Daniel Juliano and his wife Jennifer, Carlos and Melanie Juliano, Antonio Manuel Freitas Ribeiro and his wife Sandra, Olga and Ana Lisa Freitas Ribeiro and Carlos Manuel Freitas Ribeiro Jr.; a beloved great-grandmother to Alex and Samantha; a dear sister to Adelina Goncalves and Leonor Teixeira, both of Springfield, and was also predeceased by her 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Funeral services are on Thursday morning at 9am from Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10am in Our Lady of Fatima Church followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery. Visiting hours are on Wednesday evening from 5-8pm.
