Obituary for Albino Correia
Albino J. Correia, 87, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2011 at Baystate Medical Center. Born in Ludlow, son of the late Joseph and Maria (Esteves) Correia, he lived most of his life here and in Bridgeport, CT and was a foreman for various construction companies. Upon retirement, he also worked for Relvas Travel Agency in C.T. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was also a “jack of all trades”. Albino is survived by many loving family members: stepdaughter Elaine Santos (daughter of Clara (Coelho) Correia), of Springfield, 3 sisters Aurora Correia, of Ludlow, Maria Moura, of CT, and Helena de Jesus Correia, of Portugal; his grandchildren Raymond Santos and wife Jennifer, of R.I. and Christine (Santos) Shukes and husband Anthony, of Springfield; great-grandchildren Gabrielle, Noah, Reilly Santos; numerous nieces and nephews throughout MA and Ct; including Horacio “Rosco“ Santos, of Ludlow, and Antonio Correia, of VT, extended family members, and dear friends. He was predeceased by his brother Joao Joaquim and sister Delfina. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at 9am from Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10am in Christ the King Church followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery.
