Obituary for Albino Lopes Serra
The family of Albino Lopes Serra is heartbroken to announce his passing on July 12, 2025 at the age of 91. Albino was the eldest of his siblings, born on December 8, 1933 in Sobral da Lagoa, Portugal to Maria do Rosario and Florindo Lopes Serra. He was a faithful, simple man; friend to all. Albino always had a smile for his grandkids despite his suffering during his brief illness. Sunday lunch is a tradition he treasured, Albino helped his Maria with the preparation and was the first to the table, waiting for all to arrive. Albino was a loving husband for sixty-seven years to Maria, a devoted father to his daughters Georgina Serra-Hawkins (Mark) and Teresa Fernandes (Domingos) and son Silver (Maria João), and a proud grandfather to Dario, Samuel, Benjamin, Simon, Georgia, and Oliver. He is predeceased by his brothers Madail and Antonio, his sister Maria and brother-in-law Antonio Serra, and his brother-in-law Pedro Matias. Albino is survived by his brother Armenio and sister-in-law Guiomar, his sister Idalina Matias, and sister-in-law Idalina Serra. He leaves behind dear nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends, and his dedicated and very caring nephew Louis Matias.
Family and friends may visit Saturday July 19, 2025 from 9am-10:15am at Ludlow Funeral Home followed by Albino's Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Fatima Parish at 11am. Burial will follow in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Ludlow Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, please perform random acts of kindness in Albino's memory.
