Alexandra (Blaha) Zguta, 93, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2023, with her loving family by her side. Born in Halych, Ukraine, daughter of the late Nicholas and Irene (Lozynsky) Blahyj, she was a longtime Ludlow resident where she was a devout communicant and member of Saints Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church and frequently volunteered with making pierogi and parish dinners. Alexandra loved to bake delicious torte cakes and pastries, and passed the customs of her Ukrainian culture to her daughter and daughter in law.
Alexandra was the beloved wife of the late Ilko Zguta who predeceased her in 1999; a loving mother to Roman (Anne) Zguta, of NY, Jerry (Lisa) Zguta, of Ohio, and Irene (Larry) Gazda, of Framingham; cherished grandmother to Andrew Zguta (Samantha Chapin) , Kasandra Zguta, Sami Zguta, Nicholas Zguta and wife (Shelbie), Stephan Zguta and fiance Alethea Melanson, Alec Gazda and fiance Bao Tran Ma, Marc Gazda, Elias Gazda and Laryssa Gazda; great-grandmother to Zennon Zguta; dear sister of Ronald Wyrsta, and the late Myroslaw Blahyj and Martha Blaha; and also leaves many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends in AZ, CA, VA, NY, and Ukraine. Funeral services for Alexandra will be held on Monday, August 14th. Visiting hours are from 9:00-10:15am in Ludlow Funeral Home with Panakhyda at 10:00am. Funeral mass is at 11:00am in Sts. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church followed by burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery.
