Obituary for Alexandre Portelada
Alexandre Portelada, 40, of Springfield, passed away peacefully at home on December 19, 2023. Alex was the son of the late Porfirio and Maria Gloria (Dias) Portelada and was raised in Ludlow where he was a graduate of Ludlow High School. Alex spent many years working in the landscaping industry and will be affectionately remembered for his love of gaming and cars, being an extreme Manchester City fan; as well as always being “footloose and fancy-free”. Alex leaves his longtime fiancee Jessica Alves, of Springfield, his sister Maria Luiza StMarie and husband Ray, of Ludlow, his brother Manuel Portelada and wife Melissa, of Ludlow, his sister Nadege Portelada, of France, nieces and nephews: Kyle StMarie and wife Brittany, of Wales, Brianna King and wife Grace, of North Brookfield, Anthony Portelada, of Ludlow, and Bastien and Julie, of France; great-niece Brooke, of Wales; his best puppy friends, Chewy; and the late Bean; as well as many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends both here and in Portugal including Jessica's parents Zelia and Arthur Alves. Funeral services for Alex will be held on Friday, December 22nd. Visiting hours will be from 8:30-10:15 at Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00am in Our Lady of Fatima Church followed by burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery.
