Alexandrina Marcelino, 84, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2025, surrounded by the love and comfort of her devoted family. Born in Penalonga, Portugal, to the late Bento and Maria Marques, Alexandrina first immigrated to Angola and then to the United States in 1980 and settled in Ludlow. She was a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church and lived a life guided by profound faith.
Alexandrina had a love for gardening and spent countless hours tending to her vegetables and animals. Alexandrina was a talented seamstress, spending hours in her sewing room repairing friends and family's clothes. She retired from Hasbro after many years of dedicated work.
Alexandrina was the beloved wife of 53 years to Fernando Marcelino - they shared a loving bond that he will carry on. She was predeceased by her sister Benta Marques and brother Jose Marques. She leaves behind her cherished family, who will carry her memory with love and gratitude: her son Carlos Marcelino and his wife Susette; her treasured grandchildren Adriana and Lucas. She is also survived by her sister Rosa Carvalheira of Brazil and her sister-in-law Benvinda Marques of Ludlow, along with many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026. Visiting hours will be 9:00-10:15AM at Ludlow Funeral Home. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00AM in Our Lady of Fatima Church, followed by entombment at Most Holy Redeemer Mausoleum, Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Springfield, MA.
