Obituary for Alice (Gagne) Mckay
Alice (Gagne) McKay, 78, of Ludlow passed away unexpectedly while doing what she loved, working in her flower garden, on Sunday June, 14, 2020. Born in Ludlow to the late Louis and Sophie (Czupryna) Gagne, she has lived in Ludlow for most of her life and was a faithful communicant of St. Elizabeth Parish.
Alice worked for many years in the banking industry as a teller and then assistant manager. She went on to work for Dow Jones as a customer service representative before retiring.
Family was the focal point of her life. Alice was a founding member of the Soccer Moms of LYSA and coached the first girls’ soccer team. She was a Hockey Mom and a Cub Scout Pack leader. She was devoted to her grandchildren helping to care for them and was a fixture at all of their activities and sporting events. Alice enjoyed entertaining and hosted many events, pool parties and picnics in her beautifully landscaped backyard. Alice was the beloved wife of the late John McKay who sadly predeceased her in May of 2019. She leaves her Loving children Craig Mckay of Ludlow and Lori Lewicki of Ludlow and her partner Andy Gagne; adored grandchildren Alicia Bartshe and her husband Kevin, Lauren Parker and husband Dan, Trevor Lewicki and Nikolas McKay and her cherished new great grandson Colton John Parker and several caring nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Alice was also predeceased by her brother, Thomas Gagne. A Public walk through visitation will be held for Alice on Friday morning June 19 from 9:00-10:15am at Ludlow Funeral Home adhering to State and Local guidelines in regards to no contact, social distancing and PPE. A liturgy of Christian burial will then be celebrated at 11:00am in St Elizabeth Parish, her burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers please make donations in her memory to Shriners Children's Hospital in Springfield or St. John the Baptist School in Ludlow
