Obituary for Allen Pettell
Allen Raymond Pettell, 76, of Ludlow was called home to God on Tuesday May 31, 2016. Born in Springfield to the late Raymond and Catherine (Mango) Pettell he has lived in Ludlow for many years and was a proud member of the Polish American Citizens Club, he was active in bingo and loved to play trivia. Allen was a faithful communicant of St. Catherine of Siena Parish and he worked for over 28 years at Conrail as an operator and dispatcher. He leaves his beloved wife of 31 years Priscilla (Warzecha) Pettell of Ludlow; daughters Joanne Bluto and husband Jeff of Palmer and Leanne Newton and husband Richard of Tyngsborough; grandchildren Lauren Newton, Ryan Newton and Nicole Bottaro and a great-granddaughter Maya Cruz; his brother Kenneth Pettell and his wife Martha of Ashland; sister-in-law Claire Root of Norwich; his former wife Kathy Slater of Springfield; several cousins and many friends that will miss him as well as his pets, Doodle, Panda and Purple. Funeral services for Allen will be held on Monday, June 6, 2016. Visiting hours are from 9:30-10:30am from the Ludlow Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 11:30am in St. Catherine of Siena Church followed by procession to St. Michael's Cemetery for Burial. In lieu of flowers please make donations in Allens name to the Diabetes or Parkinson's Foundation or to the charity of one's choice.
