Obituary for Amandio Jorge
Amandio Jorge, 63, of Springfield, was called to Heaven on January 14, 2008. Born in Portugal, son of the late Antonio and Luisa (de Andrade) Jorge, he came to Springfield in 1976. Amandio was the beloved husband of 37 years to Maria (Fernandes) Jorge, a loving father to Luisa Antonucci and her husband Carl, of Ludlow, Margarida Jorge, of Washington D.C., and Cristine Jorge, of Philadelphia; a cherished grandfather to Natalie and Antonio Antonucci; and a dear brother to Eurico Jorge, Georgina Oliveira and Fernanda Rodrigues, all of Ludlow, Ana Jorge Leal, of Brazil, and the late Alexandre Jorge. Friends and family are asked to gather for a Liturgy of Christian Burial on Thursday morning at 9am in St. John the Baptist Church, Ludlow, followed by burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Visiting hours are on Wednesday evening from 4-7pm.
