Obituary for Amaro Paulo
Amaro Paulo, 63, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Carvalhal de Turquel, Alcobaca, Portugal, he immigrated with his family to the United States in 1968 settling in Chicopee where he graduated from Chicopee Comprehensive H.S. Amaro then moved to Ludlow where resided for the past 20 years. Amaro was formerly employed for 14 years at Smith and Wesson and has worked for the past 25 years for Bernardino’s Bakery. He was also a proud member of the Chicopee Portuguese Club and Gremio Lusitano Club, and in his free time, he enjoyed traveling, deep sea fishing, and playing tennis and pool, but his greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. Amaro was the beloved husband of 41 years to Maria (Silva) Paulo; a loving father to Jesse Paulo and former wife Amy, Timmy Paulo and companion Bella Soares, and Becky Elias and husband Danny; cherished grandfather of Elizabeth Bryant, Ciera, Krysta, and Mia Paulo, and Gavin, Danica, and Landon Elias; beloved son of Ilda Paulo and the late Manuel Paulo; brother of Tito Paulo and wife Alice, Maria Rebelo and husband Tito, and the late Felipe Paulo; uncle of Nelia Ennis and husband William, George Paulo and wife Samantha, Monica Dos Santos and husband Jorge, and Kyle Rebelo; and also leaves many loving extended family members and dear friends.
Visiting hours for Amaro are on Monday, January 17th from 5:00-7:00 in Ludlow Funeral Home. Funeral is on Tuesday, January 18th at 9:00am from Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00am in Our Lady of Fatima Parish. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
