Obituary for Americo "Bobby" Santos
Americo “Bobby” Santos, 91, died peacefully on Saturday, January 28, 2006 in Wingate at Wilbraham Nursing Home. Born in Ludlow, he was a lifelong resident and a Navy Veteran serving his country honorably in WWII. He was the former co-owner of Uncle Bob’s General Store and worked for many years for the Ludlow DPW before his retirement. He was also a member of the Unity A.C. and the Portuguese American Citizens Club. Bobby was the beloved brother of Irene Cellillie and her son Randy, with whom he lived, Jessie Oliveira, Eva Dias and Lois Morais, all of Ludlow, and the late Louis, John and Frank Santos and Martha Duda; as well as a dear uncle to many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. Funeral services with Military Honors will be on Wednesday morning at 8am from the Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9am in Our Lady of Fatima Church followed by burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday evening from 5-8pm and donations may be made in Bobby’s memory to Our Lady of Fatima Church Lower Shrine Fund Winsor St. Ludlow, Ma. 01056 or to the Wingate at Wilbraham Activity Fund 9 Maple St. Wilbraham, Ma. 01095.
