Obituary for Ana (Costa) Nazare
Ana (Costa) Nazare, 80, of Chicopee, formerly of Springfield, passed away peacefully at home on January 9, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Soutelo, Portugal, daughter of the late Alberto and Eliza (de Jesus) Costa, she immigrated to the U.S. in 1974. Ana worked for many years at United Plastics from where she retired and was also a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Parish. In her free time, she loved to pray, read, garden, and especially spend time with her family and friends. Ana was the beloved wife of the late Ramiro Nazare, who predeceased her in 2011; a loving mother to Anna-Paula Figueiredo and husband Eduardo, of Chicopee, a beloved grandmother to the late Bruce Edward Figueiredo, who predeceased her in 2019; a dear sister to Almerindo Costa, José Costa, Laurindo Costa, Tony Costa, and the late Gloria Costa and Maria Nazare Lage; and also leaves many loving, extended, family members and dear friends. Funeral services for Ana will be held on Thursday, January 12th. Visiting hours will be from 10:00-11:15 in Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 12:00pm in Our Lady of Fatima Parish followed by burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery.
