Ana (Dias) Goncalves, 99, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2026 with her loving family by her side. Born in Torgueda, Montalegre, Portugal, she immigrated to the United States settling in Ludlow where she was a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Parish. Ana worked for many years at Ludlow Mills, Cromwell Mills, and UniFirst before retiring, and enjoyed being in her garden, especially tending to her flowers; but her greatest joy in life was spending time with her large family.
Ana was the beloved wife of the late Antonio Joaquim Goncalves, who predeceased her in 1987; a loving mother to Tony Goncalves and wife Darlene, of West Palm Beach, FL, Albino Goncalves and wife Susette, of Ludlow, Alex Goncalves and wife Diane, of Myrtle Beach, SC, and John Goncalves and wife Karen, of North Port, FL; a dear sister to Luisa in Brazil, and the late Alzira and Bento; a devoted grandmother to 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, & their families; and also leaves many loving extended family members and dear friends.
Funeral services for Ana are on Friday, February 27th. Visitation is from 9:00-10:15am at Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00am in Our Lady of Fatima Parish followed by burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery.
