Obituary for Ann M. (Casagrande) Silva
Ann M. (Casagrande) Silva, 87, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully at home on November 3, 2011 with her loving family by her side. Born in Ludlow, daughter of the late Joseph and Giustina (Cecchini) Casagrande, she was a lifelong resident and communicant of the former St. Mary of the Assumption Church. She worked for many years at Jane Alden and the Big Y before her retirement. Ann was the beloved wife of the late Americo “Mac“ Silva, who predeceased her in 1999, a loving mother to Robert Silva and wife Mary, and Diana Vigneault and husband Dana, all of Ludlow; a dear brother to Reno Casagrande and wife Mary, of Ludlow; a cherished grandma to Melissa Kane and husband Jim, of Northboro, Alisson Johnston and husband Chris, of Shrewsbury, and Derek, Brandon and Erica Vigneault, of Ludlow; an adoring noni to Makayla and Cameron Kane, and Abigail and Noah Johnston; and also leaves many loving extended family members and dear friends. Ann‘s family also wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to Baystate Hospice and caregivers Carol, Mamie, Karen and Robin for all their care, support, and compassion. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at 9:00am from Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Elizabeth Parish followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery. Visiting hours are on Monday from 4-7pm. Â
