Obituary for Antonia Miranda Martins
Antonia Miranda Martins, 89, of Ludlow passed away peacefully on Thursday April 6, 2023. Born in Donoes, Portugal she immigrated to Ludlow in 1967 and was a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church. Antonia retired from Valmont Inc. in 1999 to care for her Granddaughter Katarina and later her grandson Ryan. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, gardening and spending time with her family and friends. She was the beloved wife of the late Domingos Martins who sadly predeceased her in 2012. Antonia leaves her loving daughter Fatima Santos and her husband Mario of Ludlow; adored grandchildren Katarina and Ryan Santos of Ludlow and many godchildren, nieces and nephews and extended family and friends, and missed by her constant companions Buster and Summer. She was also predeceased by her sisters Maria and Rosa. Antonia’s family would like to send a sincere thank you to Baystate Wing Hospital and Beacon Hospice for all their great care. Funeral services for Antonia will be held on Tuesday April 11, 2023, from the Ludlow Funeral Home. Visitation is Tuesday morning from 9:15-10:15 am with a Liturgy of Christian Mass celebrated at 11:00am in Our Lady of Fatima Church followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please donate in Antonia’s memory to: Our Lady of Fatima Church.
