Obituary for Antonio Martins
Antonio Martins, 88, of Indian Orchard, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Ludlow, son of the late Umbelina Martins, he was a graduate of Ludlow High School and eventually settled in Indian Orchard. Antonio was a United States Army Veteran proudly serving his country during the Korean War and worked for 31 years at the former Longview Fiber in West Springfield before retiring. Antonio was the beloved companion and friend to Ann Guyotte; a loving father and grandfather to Nadine McGowan of Somers, CT and her sons Kevin, Matthew, Jeremy, and Brian; Karen Martins of Palm Beach Gardens, and Donna Moge and husband Steve of East Longmeadow and their daughter Nichole Moge; a dear brother to Mary Jewett, of Holyoke, and the late Belarmino and Jaime Martins; and also leaves many loving extended family members and dear friends. Funeral services for Antonio will be held on Friday, March 29, 2019. Friends and family are asked to gather for a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00am in Our Lady of Fatima Church followed by burial with Military Honors in St. Aloysius Cemetery. At his request, there are no visiting hours and Ludlow Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Antonio’s memory to The American Heart Association (heart.org)
