Obituary for Antonio Barroso
Antonio Barroso, 86, of Ludlow was called home to be with God on Wednesday, May 16, 2018. Born in Torgueda, Montalegre, Portugal he was the son of the late Alfredo and Ana (da’ eira) Barroso. Antonio was a long time resident of Ludlow and faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Parish. He was a proud member of the Gremio Lusitano Club, belonging to its Honorary Delegation. A devoted Benfiquista! One of is greatest enjoyments was watching his futebol games and being surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of the late Maria Augusta Barroso who predeceased him in 1993. Antonio leaves his loving children; Maria Susette Goncalves and her husband Albino, Daniel Barroso, Maria Conceicao Crespo and her husband Augusto, Jorge Barroso and his wife Susie all of Ludlow. His adored grandchildren Fatima Barroso Joao and husband Luis, Jason Barroso and wife Becky, Christina Goncalves and David Goncalves, Sabrina Barroso and Sofia Barroso, Jennifer Crespo Martins and husband Jason, Steven Anthony Crespo, and the late Daniel Joseph Crespo. Always smiling and asking for his 5 great-grandchildren who he loved dearly. He also leaves his is brother Manuel Barroso and his late siblings Joaquim, Jose, Emilia, Joao and Gloria. Funeral services for Antonio will be held on Wednesday May 23, 2018 at 9:00am from the Ludlow Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:00am in Our Lady of Fatima Parish followed by burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Visiting hours are Tuesday evening from 5:00-7:00pm.
