In Portugal, Antonio studied at the Jesuit Seminary in Soutelo Braga where he met his future wife Helena (Roriz de Sousa), who was a teacher in a small school in the village of Soutelo. In 1977, the visa was granted and they came to New Jersey before eventually settling in Ludlow in 1979. Antonio held various positions within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts before becoming the owner and operator of Gois Broadcasting, a legacy of which his sons continue today. Within the community, Antonio was a devoted communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Parish where he became Deacon in 2005.
