Obituary for Antonio Garcia
Antonio Garcia, 96, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2022 surrounded by love. Born in Sarraquinhos, Montalegre, Portugal, he immigrated to the United States in 1960 settling in Ludlow where he was a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Parish and member of the Gremio Lusitano Club. Antonio worked for many years in construction and in his free time, he enjoyed playing cards and bocce, and working around the house; but his greatest joy in life was spending time with family and friends. Antonio was the beloved husband of 67 years to Aurora (Aleixo) Garcia; a loving father to Joseph Garcia and wife Ilda, Antonio Garcia and wife Isabel, and John Garcia and wife Melissa; a cherished grandfather to Christina Mariani and husband Michael, David Garcia and wife Melanie, and Brian, Justin, and Jenna Garcia; a cherished great-grandfather to Gabrielle, Michael, Eliana, and Brady; and also leaves many loving extended family members and dear friends. He was the youngest brother to his late siblings Joaquin, Ida, Jose, Deolinda, and Delmira. At the family’s request, walk through no contact visitation will be held on Thursday November 17th from 9:15am-10:15am in Ludlow Funeral Home. Family and friends may then meet directly at Our Lady of Fatima Parish at 11:00am for a Liturgy of Christian Burial followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery.
