Obituary for Antonio J. Goncalves
Antonio J. Goncalves, 74, of Ludlow passed away peacefully on Wednesday July 31, 2013. Born in Padornelos, Portugal to the late Jose and Ana (Pires) Caruco, he has lived in Ludlow for many years and was a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Parish, a proud member of the Gremio Lusitano Club and Ludlow Fish and Game Club. He enjoyed wine making and gardening and worked for Moore Drop Forge and Titeflex for over 20 years before retiring in 2002. Antonio was proud of his Portuguese heritage, he served in the Portuguese Army and was an avid fan of F.C. Porto. He leaves his beloved wife of 53 years Maria (Crespo) Goncalves of Ludlow; loving sons Jose A. Goncalves of Ludlow and Antonio Goncalves and his wife Tracey of Ludlow; cherished grandfather to Alyssa, Aimee, Allisen, Jennifer and Michael. Funeral services for Antonio will be held on Monday August 5th, 2013 at 9:00am from the Ludlow Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:00am in Our Lady of Fatima Church followed by burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Visiting hours are Sunday evening from 4:00-7:00pm . In lieu of flowers his family has asked that donations be made in Antonio’s memory to: Our lady of Fatima Parish
