Obituary for Antonio Nogueira
Antonio Nogueira, 92, of Ludlow passed away peacefully on Monday May 7, 2012 in the loving care of his daughter-in-law Dana, son Gilbert and his play and laugh partner, grandson Nicholas. Born in Turquel, Portugal he attended seminar schooling and served Mass in Portugal from ages 19-46 and was fluent in Latin. Antonio has lived in Ludlow for many years and was a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church and a former member of the Gremio Lusitano Club. He enjoyed hunting, playing cards and dancing. Antonio was predeceased by his beloved wife Francelina Nogueira in 2005. He leaves his loving children; Armando Nogueira and wife Isabel, Abilio Nogueira and wife Isabel, Jose Nogueira and wife Maria, Manuel Nogueira and wife Odette, Gilberto Nogueira and wife Dana, Fernando Nogueira, Lisa Ribeiro and husband Manuel, Maria McSwain and husband David all of Ludlow and Isaura Munzert and her husband William of Wilbraham; 23 adored grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 5 step great-grandchildren, his brother-in-law Abilio Ferrabelo in Wilbraham as well as several nieces and nephews throughout the community. Sadly Antonio was predeceased by his brothers and sisters Jose, Graciano, Maria, Luzia, Conceicao, Lipoldina and Anastacio. Funeral services for Antonio will be held on Thursday May 10, 2012 at 8:00am from the Ludlow Funeral Home followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 9:00am in Our Lady of Fatima Church with interment in Island Pond Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Wednesday evening from 4:00-7:00pm.
