Obituary for Antonio R. Teixeira
Antonio R. Teixeira, 81, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2017 surrounded by his family. Born in Portugal, son of the late Adolfo and Laura (Dias DaCruz) Teixeira, he was a proud member of the Portuguese Army and has been a longtime Ludlow resident. He worked for many years at the former Storms Forge in Springfield before retiring.  Antonio was the beloved husband of the late Ana (Martins) Teixeira, who predeceased him in 2005; a loving father to Joseph Teixeira and his wife Elizabeth, of Ludlow, a devoted grandfather to Anna, Andrew, and Amie Teixeira; a dear brother to Augusto (late Isabel) Teixeira, Teresa (Antonio) Afonso, Maria (late Luis) Fernandes, Jose (Fatima) Teixeira, Armindo (Joaquina) Teixeira, Fatima (Joao) Ramalhete, and Irene (Manuel) Botelho; and also leaves many loving extended family members and dear friends. Funeral services for Antonio will be held on Tuesday, April 25th at 8:30am from Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9:30am in Our Lady of Fatima Church followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery.  Visiting hours are on Monday from 6:00-8:00pm.
