Obituary for Antonio "Tony" M. Rosa
Antonio “Tony” M. Rosa, of Ludlow, was called to Heaven on Saturday, February 11, 2006. Born in Carvalhal de Turquel, Portugal, the son of the late Joaquim and Rosinda (Moreira) Rosa, he was a member of the Portuguese Army and moved to Ludlow in 1976. Tony worked for 28 years for Smith and Wesson in Springfield, was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church and a member of the Portuguese American Citizens Club. He was also a talented handyman and loved carpentry, landscaping and gardening. Tony was the beloved husband of 28 years to Trindade (Bento) Rosa, a loving father to Gary Rosa of Nashua, NH and Kelly Rosa of Ludlow; a dear brother to Jose Rosa in Portugal, Alda Martins and Lucas Rosa, both of Ludlow, Celeste Fernandes of Chicopee, Fernando Rosa of Portugal and the late Martinho Rosa. He also leaves several nieces, nephews, godchildren, family and friends. Funeral services are on Wednesday morning at 8am from the Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9am in Our Lady of Fatima Church followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery. Visitation is on Tuesday evening from 5-8pm and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tony’s memory to the American Cancer Society 59 Bobala Rd. Holyoke, Ma. 01040.
