Obituary for Arlene "Lee" (Mancini) Thompson
Arlene “Lee” (Mancini) Thompson, 75, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on January 29th 2008, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Needham, MA, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Dorothy Mancini and a 1949 graduate of Needham High School. Arlene was a faithful communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church and worked for Smith and Wesson for 25 years as an inspector, before her retirement in 1993. She leaves her beloved husband of 47 years Leo J. Thompson, of Ludlow; her loving daughter-in-law Deborah Thompson, of Ludlow; cherished granddaughters Shannon Stowers and her husband Doug, of West Springfield, and Kristy Wells and her husband Mike, of Natick, MA; caring brother Robert Mancini and his wife Palmira, of Needham, a nephew Robert Mancini and his wife Cecil, of Franklin, MA, and a niece Barbara Terrazzino and her husband Angelo, of Needham, MA. Arlene was predeceased by her son, Ludlow Firefighter, Robert Thompson, who passed away in 1999. Funeral services will be held on Friday Morning February 1st, 2008 at 11:00am from the Ludlow Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 12:00pm in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, followed by burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Visiting hours are Thursday evening from 4-8pm and in lieu of flowers donations may be made in Arlene’s memory to, Baystate Hospice PO Box 9058, Springfield, MA. 01102.
