Obituary for Armindo J.C. Rebelo
Armindo J. C.  Rebelo, 77, of Indian Orchard passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on March 4th.,2011. Born in Sao Bartolomeu, Lourinha, Portugal to the late Elisiario and Cecilia (das Merces) Rebelo. He was a long time resident of Indian Orchard,  and a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Parish.  Armindo worked for various local construction companys  including Bruschi Brothers and Northeast Contractors. He took great pleasure in watching his granddaughters play his favorite sport of soccer. He was a true fan of F.C. Sporting.  He was a very proud member of the Gremio Lusitano Club where he served as a honor guard for funeral services, and enjoyed afternoon card playing with his friends.  He adored telling jokes at  family gatherings and playing dominos with his granddaughters.  He leaves his beloved wife of 55 years,  Maria Da Conceicao (Henriques) Rebelo; loving daughters Maria Helena Bento and her husband Victor of Montreal, and Irene Hackett and her husband Kerry of Ludlow. Cherished grandchildren Gina, Nancy, and Stephanie of Montreal;  Kaitlyn, Sarah, and Jennifer of Ludlow; Carolina and Ricardo of Brazil. He leaves, as well, many  loving family members  and friends throughout Europe and the United States. Sadly,  Armindo was predeceased by his son U.S. Air Force Colonel  Antonio H. Rebelo in 2006.  Armindo's family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude for the love and care received by the staff of the Katz Oncology Unit of Baystate Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday March 8th, 2011 at 8:30am from the Ludlow Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated in Our lady Of Fatima Church at 9:30am followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery. Visiting hours are Monday evening from 4:00-7:00pm and in lieu of flowers donations may be made in Armindo’s memory to the charity of ones choice
