Obituary for Arnaldo M. Costa
Arnaldo M. Costa, 81, of Indian Orchard, passed away peacefully at home on April 14, 2010, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Lisbon, Portugal, son of the late Edward and Isabel (Moura) Costa, he was a member of Portuguese Army and came to the U.S. in May of 1966. Arnaldo worked for many years at Fountain Plating and later at Poly Plating specializing in the silver plating of bearing weldments before his retirement on Dec. 31, 1997. He was an avid gardener, taking much pride in his gardens, and was a huge Benfica soccer fan; but most of all he adored his family. Arnaldo was the beloved wife of the late Odete (Rato) Costa, who predeceased him in 2001; the loving father of Arnaldo Costa Jr., of Indian Orchard, and Lisa Kane and husband Jim, of Ludlow; a proud grandfather to his grandson Michael Geoffrion, of Ludlow; a dear brother to Edward Costa Jr. and wife Celeste, of Springfield, John Costa and wife Inga, of Mississippi, Liza Douglas, of Springfield, and the late Antonio Costa; and also leaves many other loving family members and dear friends including his sister-in-law Clotilde Costa; and nephews Edward III, John and Alexander Costa, and Cary and Mark Douglas. Funeral services will be on Sat. April 17, 2010 at 9am from Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10am in the Catholic Community of St. Elizabeth Parish followed by burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery.
