Obituary for Arthur G. 'Gramps' Bergeron
Arthur Gerald Bergeron, 85, a lifelong Indian Orchard resident, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 7, 2013 with his loving and devoted family by his side. He was born August 15, 1927, graduated from Springfield Trade school in 1946. He was a U.S. Navy WWII Veteran. He retired as Master Carpenter and Cabinet Maker from Mass Mutual in 1990. He was an active member of the St. Jude Mission, formerly St. Matthew’s Church, founding member of Scantic YMCA, and a member of the Eastfield mall-walker group. What Arthur enjoyed the most was spending time with his family. He leaves behind his loving wife Evelyn (Severyn), of 64 years. Three daughters Debora and her husband John Angus of McLean VA, Christine and her husband Michael Buckley of Pittsburgh PA, and Celeste and her husband Dan Bryz-Gornia of Ventnor NJ. 11 cherished grandchildren: Kristin (Angus) and Travis Westmoreland, Kimberly (Angus) and Michael Reilly, Kathleen Angus, Lt. Sean Buckley, Erin (Buckley) and Jeffrey Vangura, Ens. Brian Buckley, Dan Jr., Christopher, Erika, Walter, Mary Bryz-Gornia and his younger sister Alice Chekovsky. Pre-deceased by brother-in-law Walter Severyn. Viewing will be held on Saturday, March 9,2013 at the Ludlow Funeral Home, 432 East St. Ludlow MA, at 9:15-10:15 AM. Followed by an 11 AM Catholic Service at the Immaculate Conception Church, 25 Parker St. Indian Orchard MA, Rites of Committal with Military Honors will be held at St. Aloysius Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital P.O. Box 1000 Dept. 142 Memphis, TN 38148 in honor of Arthur Bergeron (ref# 33063315).
