Obituary for Ascensao (Jacinto) Florindo
Ascensao (Jacinto) Florindo, 71, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully at home on January 10, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Serra del Rei, Portugal, daughter of the late Joao Pedro and Nazare Jacinto, she immigrated to the United States in 1975. She worked for many years at Springfield Wire and most recently for Baystate Health and in her free time she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening, and traveling, but her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Ascensao was the beloved wife of 53 years to Jesuino Florindo; a loving mother to Valerio “Larry” Garcia and wife Angela, and Aderico “Derek” Florindo and wife Jennifer, all of Ludlow; a devoted grandmother to Emma, Brandon, Jacob, Landon, and Delaney; a dear sister to Leopoldina Jacinto Pedro the late Luis Pedro Jacinto, and also leaves many loving extended family members and dear friends.
Visiting hours for Ascensao will be held on Saturday, January 15th from 9:00-10:15 in Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00am in Our Lady of Fatima Parish followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Association(alz.org)
