Obituary for Augusto Crespo
Augusto Afonso Crespo, 91 of Ludlow passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Thursday, August 29, 2019. Born in Padornelos, Portugal to the late Antonio and Olimpia (Ferreira) Crespo, he has lived in Ludlow since 1966. He was a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Parish and a proud member of the Gremio Lusitano Club. He shared his life with his beloved late wife of 64 years, Laurinda Crespo, and worked for Moore Drop Forge for 22 years. Some of his greatest enjoyments were hunting and taking care of his numerous fruit trees and vegetable gardens. He always looked forward to celebrating his birthday every year with his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends, especially his long time hunting buddies. He was a loving father to Sao Lamas and her late husband Nelson, Augusto Crespo and his wife Maria, Tony Crespo and John Crespo and his wife Darcey all of Ludlow. He leaves his sister Maria Ferreira Goncalves and several loving nieces and nephews, sadly Augusto was predeceased by his three brothers and his grandson Daniel Crespo. The family would like to thank Dr. Kahn and Trinity Home Care/Hospice especially Marissa and Erin for the compassionate care they provided during this time we truly appreciate it. Funeral services for Augusto will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at 9:00am from the Ludlow funeral home, with a Liturgy of Christian Mass celebrated at 10:00am in Our Lady of Fatima Church followed by burial in Saint Aloysius Cemetery. Visiting hours are Tuesday evening from 4:00-7:00pm.
