Obituary for Beatrice (Johnson) Genander
Beatrice (Johnson) Genander, 90, of Springfield was called home to be with God on Tuesday September 4, 2012. Born in Ipswich, MA. To the late Oscar and Clara (Harbot) Johnson, she has lived in Springfield for many years and worked for Mass Mutual Life Insurance Company until her retirement. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and flowers but truly she enjoyed the times spent with her family and friends. Beatrice was the beloved wife of the late Lawrence Genander Sr. who predeceased her in January of this year. She leaves her loving sons; Lawrence Genander Jr. and his wife Carol of Sagamore, MA., Robert N. Genander and his wife Cathleen of Bolivia, NC, and her loving daughter Jean Zola of Westfield; cherished grandchildren Jeffrey, Darlene, Dawna, Jennifer, Stephen and Bethany as well as her great-grandaughters Caitlin, Ashleigh and Aleesha. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Saturday September 8, 2012 from the Ludlow Funeral Home. Visiting hours are Saturday morning only from 8:15-9:15am followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial in Christ the King Church at 10:00am with burial to follow in St. Aloysius Cemetery.
