Obituary for Beverly (Crate) Gentile
Beverly J. (Crate) Gentile, 78 of Ludlow, was called into eternal life on Wednesday February 12, 2020, after a long and courageous battle with cancer . Born in Springfield, she retired after many years from the Springfield Bulk Mail Center as the Manager of Distribution Operation. She was a longtime faithful communicant of St. Elizabeth’s Parish, where she participated in many activities including leading the Bereavement Committee and was instrumental in the Parish Meat Pie fundraiser, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. She was sadly predeceased by her beloved husband Robert A. Gentile Sr. in 1996, and 2 sisters Jean Rumore and Barbara Gates. Beverly is survived by her 3 loving children; Rev. Robert Gentile, pastor of Blessed Sacrament Church in Holyoke, Suzanne Romani, and her significant other Marc Menard of Ludlow and Sheri Gentile and her husband Norman Betournay of Chicopee, 3 dear siblings; Geraldine Garrow and Jacqueline Peck, both of Wilbraham and Ronald Crate of W. Springfield. She also leaves three adoring grandchildren; Ashlee Pietroniro (James), Alysia Romani and Aubrey Romani (Matthew Jerome). Funeral services celebrating Beverly’s life will be held on Wednesday morning February 19th at 9 A.M. from the Ludlow Funeral Home , with a Liturgy of Christian Burial in St. Elizabeth’s Parish at 10. Burial to follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Visiting hours are Tuesday evening from 4-7 P.M., and in lieu of flowers donations may be made, in her memory to: St. John the Baptist School, Hubbard St. Ludlow, Ma. 01056.
