Obituary for Bonnie (DeFilio) Dias
On January 25th, Bonnie Dias, 60 of Ludlow, was unexpectedly called home. Bonnie loved nothing more than her family. She was so proud to call them hers. Whether it was Sunday Dinners, taking her granddaughter to horseback riding, going to Maine for family vacation, or just being together - that’s what meant the most to her. Bonnie was a graduate of the former Technical High School and spent the last 25 years at the Ludlow Public Schools as a Para, as well as the last 15 years at Randall’s Farm. So many people looked forward to their Sunday hugs and smiles from her. She lit up a room and made them laugh like no other. To know her was to love her. She is a loss to so many of us - she will forever be everyone’s Bon Bon.
She was predeceased by her loving father, Luigi DeFilio, her dear sister, Brenda DeFilio and her ex-husband and dear friend, Armand Dias also known as Rex.
She is survived by the family’s matriarch, her mother, Pearl DeFilio (Springfield), her significant other and best friend of 20+ years, Anthony Lattell (Ludlow), her twins whom she loved with all her heart, Audra Dias & Alan Dias (Ludlow), her beloved Step-Daughter and Son In Law, Cara & Josh McIntire, the loves of her life her grandchildren, Rosalia Delgado (Ludlow), Logan Campbell & Chiarina McIntire (both of Granby), her loving Nephew & his Fiancé Louis Brown & Nikki Wheeler (East Longmeadow), the dearest of friends Joe & Lynn Gomes (Ludlow), Carlos & Sao Neto (Ludlow), Manny DaCruz (Ludlow) and Chuck & Sue Belisle (Weymouth), her group of her best girlfriends, you know who you all are, and many more family and friends and a community who loved her.
Visiting hours are on Monday, January 31st from 5:00-7:00pm in Ludlow Funeral Home. Family and friends are then asked to attend a Liturgy of Christian Burial on Tuesday, February 1st at 10:00am directly in St. Elizabeth Parish. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Bonnie’s favorite charity St. Judes Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org)
