Obituary for Bonnie Lee (Desmarais) DaCosta
Bonnie Lee (Desmarais) DaCosta, 74, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Ware, Ma, daughter of the late Marcel A. and Mabel I. (Thomas) Desmarais, she was a 1964 graduate of Palmer High School. In 1965, she graduated from Machine Accounts Training (M.A.T.) in Springfield, and went on to work for Tampax, Valmont, Milton Bradley, and Caldor before retiring. Bonnie was a longtime Ludlow resident where she and her husband raised their children; and in her spare time, she loved gardening, doing puzzles, reading, going to the beach, and especially spending time with her family. Bonnie was the beloved wife of 52 years to Jose Manuel DaCosta; a loving mother to Yvette M. Talenda and husband Jeffrey, of Southampton, Catherine A. Zimmerman and husband Herbert, of Ludlow, and Joseph M. DaCosta, of Ludlow; a cherished grandmother to Kyle E.J. DiPenta, of Springfield, Alexandra A. Zimmerman, and Carl M. Zimmerman, both of Ludlow, ; a dear sister to Jacqueline A. Mattry and husband Ken, of Agawam, Pamela Desmarais, of Palmer, and the late Barbara J. Lovell; and also leaves many loving extended family members and dear friends. All services for Bonnie will be held privately by her family and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society (cancer.org)
