Obituary for Borlick F. "Oscar" Kominsky
Borlick F. “Oscar” Kominsky, 84, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2008. Born in Old Mystic, Ct, the son of the late Francis and Rose Kominsky, he moved to Springfield in 1951, then to Ludlow in 1962 where he was a faithful communicant of Christ the King Church. Oscar was a United States Army Veteran serving his country honorably during WWII. He worked for the former Springfield Armory until its closing in 1968 and then for Westover Air Force Base completing 31 years of civilian service before retiring in 1979. Oscar was the beloved husband of 57 years to Beverly (Stronberg) Kominsky; a loving father to Richard Kominsky and his wife Lois, of Westfield, and Cheryl Cormier and her husband James, of St. Petersburg, FL; a dear brother to Alice Campo, of Ledyard, CT; a cherished grandfather to Amy Pereira (Zeo) and her husband John Pereira III, and Allen Kominsky; and great-grandfather to Jamie Lynn Pereira. Funeral services are on Wednesday morning at 9am from Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10am in Christ the King Church. Burial with Military Honors will be held privately by the family in Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam.
