Obituary for Carminda (Gomes) Alves
Carminda Rosa (Gomes) Alves, 83, passed away peacefully on Sunday July 24, 2022. Born in Meixide, Portugal to the late Anibal and Ermelina (Ferreira) Gomes, she lived most of her life in Ludlow where she was a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Parish. Carminda was the beloved wife of the late Evaristo Alves who predeceased her in1988. She leaves her loving daughter Grace Fidalgo and her husband Peter of Plymouth and caring grandchildren Cassandra and Andrew; cherished great granddaughter Sophia; she also leaves her dear brother Agostinho Ferreira and his wife Maria of Ludlow as well as many caring nieces, nephews and extended family and friends both here and in Portugal. Sadly, Carminda was predeceased by her brothers Antonio and Anibal and her sisters Celeste and Maria Alice. Funeral services for Carminda will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2022 from the Ludlow Funeral Home. Visitation is Thursday morning from 10:00-11:00am with a Funeral Home Chapel service beginning at 11:00am with Fr. Pedro. A funeral procession will follow to Island Pond Cemetery for her burial.
