Celeste Dias (Oliveira) Tavares, 83, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2020. Born in Azere, Portugal, she immigrated to Ludlow in 1978 where she was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church. She loved crocheting, flower gardening, and especially spending time with her family. Celeste was the beloved wife of the late Victor Tavares who predeceased her in 2003; a loving mother to Antonio Tavares and wife Fatima, of Ludlow, and Victor Tavares and wife Ana Maria, of Wilbraham; a cherished grandmother to Elizabete Tavares-Tugi, Susana Seymour and husband Eric, Fabio Tavares, and Nicholas Tavares; great-grandmother to Brayden and Dylan; a dear sister to Laura Antunes in Portugal, and the late Diolinda, Maria and Jose; and also leaves many loving extended family members and friends. Funeral services for Celeste will be held on Tuesday, November 17th. Family and friends are asked to gather directly in Our Lady of Fatima Church for a Liturgy of Christian Burial beginning at 1:00pm. Burial will follow in Island Pond Cemetery.
