Obituary for Celestina "Sally" Fonte
Celestina “Sally” (Goncalves) Fonte, born to Alexander and Angelina (Calheno) Goncalves on July 26, 1921, left this earthly life on September 10, 2008 to be with her beloved husband Jack Fonte Sr., who predeceased her on March 21, 2006. She was a lifelong resident of Ludlow, a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church and a member of Daughters of Isabella and former member of Lusitano Womens Auxillary. Sally leaves behind to cherish her memory her devoted sons; Jack Fonte Jr., of Ludlow, and James Fonte and his wife Lisa, of West Springfield; and her sister Florence Shea and her husband James. She also leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved grandchildren, Lisa Chaves and her husband Randall, Jacqueline Breault and her husband Michael, James Fonte Jr. and his wife Deborah, and Michael Fonte. She leaves her shining stars, her great-grandchildren, Christian, Nicholas, Adrin, Alexia, Anthony and Ryley Rose; two nephews Robert and Michael Motyka; her aunt, Carminda Calheno; and her cousins, Diolinda Santos, Zulmira Carvalho, and Agostino and James Calheno, all of Ludlow. Funeral services will be on Saturday, September 13, 2008 at 10am from Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11am in Our Lady of Fatima Church followed by burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Visitation will precede the funeral on Saturday from 8:30 – 10:00am at the funeral home.
