Obituary for Charles "Chuck" Connors
Charles J. “Chuck” Connors, 61, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2008, surrounded by his loving family. He was a United States Marine Veteran serving his country honorably during the Vietnam Era. Born in Springfield, he was a longtime resident of East Forest Park graduating from the High School of Commerce in 1964, where he played football and baseball. He worked for 23 years as a corrections officer for the Connecticut State Prison System before his retirement. Chuck moved to Ludlow 17 years ago where he was an avid golfer and longtime member of the Ludlow Country Club. Chuck was the beloved son of Anne (Fenton) Connors, of Springfield, and the late Charles J. Connors; a loving brother to Michael Connors, of Springfield, John Connors, of Nevada, Patricia Vivenzio and her husband Fran, of Agawam, Susan Connors, of Eastham, and Jacqueline (Connors) Prince, of Springfield; a cherished nephew to Maurice “Mossy” Fenton and his wife Joan, of Florida, and Mary Phelan, of Springfield. Chuck will also be deeply missed by several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. The family would also like to extend a special thank you to all of Chuck’s friends who were there for him throughout his illness, as well as, the staff of Baystate Medical Center and Kindred Park View Hospital for all of their care and compassion. Friends and family are asked to gather for a Liturgy of Christian Burial on Tuesday afternoon at 12:00pm in Sacred Heart Church, Springfield followed by internment at Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Agawam. Ludlow Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Chuck’s memory to the charity of one’s choice.
