Obituary for Charles N. Bourdeau
Charles N. Bourdeau, 91, of Ludlow passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Vergennes, Vermont he was the son of the late Moise and Louisa (Gamlin) Bourdeau. He grew up in Burlington, Vermont and it will always hold a special place in his heart. Charles worked for over 42 years at Chapman Valve before
retiring from Hamilton Standard. He was a proud member of the American Legion Post 420 and he served his country honorably in the United States Marines during World War II. He leaves his beloved wife of 69 years Virginia (Spagnuolo) Bourdeau; his loving daughters
Gayle (Michael) Thomas, Kim Schmidt, and Carla (Jose) Marques; his adored grandchildren Tamara, Rebecca, Karl, Chelsea, Leigha and Joel as well as his great grandchildren Emily and Spencer, along with several nieces and nephews. Sadly Charles was predeceased
by his 5 brothers, 4 sisters and his best friend Ronnie Connaughton. His family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Baystate Home Health and Hospice for the care that they provided for him. Funeral services for Charles will be held on Tuesday, January
14, 2020 from the Ludlow Funeral Home, visiting hours will be Tuesday morning from 10:00am to 12:00pm with a chapel service beginning at 12:oopm with Monsignor Homer Gosselin presiding, burial with Military Honors will follow in Island Pond cemetery. It was
the request of Charles’ family that in Lieu of flowers please make donations in his memory to: Shriners Hospitals for Children or the Ludlow Senior Center.
