Obituary for Charlotte (Tomlinson) Taft
Charlotte Tomlinson Taft, 89, of Springfield, longtime resident of East Longmeadow, was called to Heaven on Friday June 1, 2012 with her loving family by her side. Born in Wallingford, CT, daughter of the late David Tomlinson and Helen (Fowler) Tomlinson-Townsend, she received her BA from Connecticut College for Women and worked at Bingham Laboratory at Yale University before starting her family, at which time she became a full time wife & mom. Charlotte’s passions in life were her family, BIG dogs, photography and creating amazing albums of family and trips. For over 40 years of their married life she was blessed to have traveled the world with her husband including all 50 States, throughout all of Europe, Asia and Australia. She avidly pursued the discovery of her genealogy line tracing back to 676AD, and loved reading, horseback riding, driving “Baby” her Mercedes convertible, family Christmases, family trips, drawing, playing the piano, and summers in Brewster.She is survived by her beloved and devoted husband of 65 years, Millens W. Taft Jr, 4 children: Ted Taft & wife Johanne, Rick Taft & Helen Barnstable, David Taft & wife Terry, Cindy Pecoy & husband Kent. 15 grandchildren: Lauren, Adam, Catherine, Caroline, Will, Kris, Sarah & Haley Taft, Michael, David & Ashley Tromblay, Jason & wife Jessika, Elizabeth, Joel & Jon Pecoy & fiancé Melanie Bova. 2 great granddaughters: Laura & Kayla Pecoy.
Friends and family are asked to gather for services and interment at St. Mark's Episcopal Church 1 Porter Rd. East Longmeadow, MA 01028 on Wednesday, June 6th at 10:00 am.
